For 60 years, iF has stood for the perfect combination of design and business. What started out as a "special showcase for form-fitting industrial products" in 1953 at the Hanover Exhibition Center is an international design center today, based in the city center of Hanover and exhibitions worldwide. The original association, iF Industrie Forum Design e.V., is supported by iF International Forum Design GmbH, which organizes all iF competitions, in particular the three main competitions iF product design award, iF communication design award and iF packaging design award. These iF design awards reflect the current trends in design and the economics of well-designed items.

The award ceremony took place on 28.2.2014 as part of a festive event. Subsequently, elneos five and elneos connect were exhibited in a special exhibition from 4 October 2014 to 15 February 2015 in the middle of the new HafenCity. The design metropolis Hamburg offers a particularly attractive center of attraction for the media and professional world as well as for the design and architecture interested public.
